Max Temkin on Humor & Satire in Games
Presented by meoohmy
BC Auditorium | 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM
How often do you play a genuinely funny game? And how often do you see a game leverage that humor into social satire? If players devote themselves fully to a game, can it be possible to maintain the perspective required to recognize and consume satire? When we are playing satirical games, can we be anything but complicit and participatory in the exaggerated behavior that is being satirized?
Max Temkin, co-creator of Cards Against Humanity and Humans vs. Zombies and publisher of Samurai Gunn, joins us via video conference to kick off the Baltimore Independent Game Seminar 2015 with a discussion on the role of humor and satire in game design.
